BREAKS: 02 Detroit – 50 Unique Drum Breaks

The use of breaks and live drums within the history of Hip Hop is legendary, in fact breaks were the foundation of the emerging Hip Hop scene many years ago and have remained a vital component in many producers beats since then.

When  developing this drum break sample pack we focused on the many amazing producers and musicians from Detroit especially during the 90’s and 2000’s. Geniuses such J Dilla and Black Milk plus drummers such as Daru Jones helped formulate a sound that was loose, minimalist and packing plenty of swing.

Utilising a single kit for a consistent sound, we have produced 50 original drum breaks that features these Detroit characteristics within the 85 to 95 Bpm range. Each loop has a 4 bar pattern then a variation and finally a drum fill for the final bar giving you the producer, maximum flexibility in your beats.

We finally mixed them down to 1/4 inch tape and bounced them back into the computer for additional editing and treatment, ensuring that you can use these right away with the minimum of eq’ing and mixing.

The music samples in the demo are not included. They are sold separately HERE
